We have a rescue dog we got when she was around 3-3.5 years old. She is a mix of pit bull and mastiff but was likely the runt as she weighs “only” 60# (50 when we got her).
She is SO thrilled to go on each and every one of the daily walks we take her on and on weekends when we go through the woods and on trails. She does pull and she IS strong and excited, haha. I am not interested in any kind of collar that “gently” tightens around their neck to help with pulling and generally speaking I’m fine with the fact that she is constantly pulling forward some in excitement.
All that to say — I was trying to find a better leash for her, and I am very impressed with this one. Not only the fact that you can use this as a leash, and it can function as a car seat belt–the shock absorbing bungee portion really does help us out. The material is very sturdy and excellent quality. The value is great for the price as I feel this leash will last forever.
If you have a bigger, stronger type dog who pulls some or may be a little reactive–give this a try! I would recommend!
I have a 120lb lab doodle that in general is a great dog but has been known to chase rabbits when on walks so I need a strong leash.
The way Ciao Pets leash handles itself is certainly feels like a high-quality product and I’m beyond thrilled with this leash. The handle does have a little bit of padding to it so if he did takeoff, there would be a little bit of the cushion. Also, I really do like the bungee effect of this as it does give you some cushion and is not an immediate snapback. This does have a very nice handle on the lower part of the leash below the bungee that allows you to control your dog in situations where you need to not be able to give them an inch.
I also like that this does have a reflective material built in that I did not notice on the website which I find an added bonus. It’s always nice to have lights walking him in the dusk or the evening.
This does have the flexibility to make the leash a little bit longer or a little bit shorter based on your height as well, which is really nice.
The leash is actually pretty lightweight for his strong as it is as well. I’m not sure the material but it does have a great feel to it. It is pretty stiff right out of the box, but I’m sure it will loosen up overtime as they all do.
What I love about this leash is the two handles – one at your end, and one close to the dog’s neck. When we walk by other dogs, my man can be a little reactive, so I am able to easily choke up on the leash and have a good grip with one hand, while soothing him with the other.
I have a husky, and she gets excited easily. It’s very convenient being able to go from a long leash to a short handle and then even buckle her in. Very happy and have suggested it to others
This is a perfect leash for a medium to large dog. Well designed and constructed, the leash offers comfort while not sacrificing control. The leash is adjustable in length from 4 to 6 feet, allowing the user greater flexibility when it comes to deciding how much freedom they initially want to offer their dog, based upon behavior. A comfortable nylon material covers an underlying rubber handle, again not sacrificing comfort for control. Further down the leash is the bungee cord that really reduces the pulling effect on your arm …. reduces the jarring pull in the event the dog jumps or tries to run. Towards the alloy clasp, there is a strong rubber grab handle for close control of the dog when it tries to jump or when you’re training it to respond to commands such as sit or stay or down. Lastly, the alloy buckle to attach to the dog’s harness is solid and strong. These features are truly wonderful. It also offers a d-ring towards the top handle for hanging waste bags or treat bag, and a car seat belt latch too, right above the bungee area which I’ve not used yet. An all around terrific product.
I recently got this Heavy-Duty Bungee Dog Leash, and it’s been a fantastic addition to our daily walks and car trips.
First off, the adjustability is top-notch. You can tweak everything from the strap length to the elastic section that absorbs shock. The leash stretches under tension, giving my dog a bit of freedom while still keeping things under control.
The carabiner is a beast – super sturdy and easy to clip on, unlike those flimsy ones that make you wrestle with your nails. Plus, the leash has reflective threads, so I feel safer during our evening strolls.
A big bonus is how well it integrates with car seatbelts. Perfect for road trips and those much anticipated “pupaccino” runs.
The dual padded handles are a game-changer. They’re solid and give me better control, especially when my dog gets a bit too enthusiastic.
Overall, it’s a reliable, versatile leash that has made our adventures smoother and safer.
I needed a new leash for my dog. We have the older style button retractable leash currently and it doesn’t always work the best. I wanted something a bit more simple.
This new leash is fantastic! I can’t get over how many little added features are included: a heavy duty carabiner clip, sturdy handle that had a bit of bulk to it so it is easy to grasp, a bungie stretch feature to keep my dog from pulling me off my feet should he decide to chase a squirrel suddenly, a handle close to his body, in case I need to provide temporary close restraint, and even a buckle that will work in my car seatbelt to keep him safe while on the road!
This leash was very reasonably priced. With all the features provided, I would expect to pay a lot more for this leash. I highly recommend this leash to anyone!
This is by far the best dog leash I’ve owned! The shock-absorbing features are excellent for smoothing out sudden pulls, which makes walks with my dog much more comfortable. I love the multifunctional design; it easily converts to a car seatbelt, adding an extra layer of safety during travel. The dual padded handles provide a comfortable grip, and the adjustable length from 4 to 6 feet is perfect for various walking situations. The black color looks sleek and modern. Overall, this leash offers durability and versatility, making it a great investment for any dog owner.
I have really come to appreciate the bungee leashes. They keep my dog from jarring his neck when he gets excited and abruptly reaches the end of his lead. After working many years in the veterinary industry, I have seen many dogs with neck and back injuries due to this very behavior. I believe these bungee leashes give enough of a cushion to help us gently train our dogs to heel better. What really makes this leash special in particular, are the hardware. The carabiner clip in is ergonomically shaped to make clipping on and off easier. Also, there are 2 rings. These could quickly be used for either creating a quick short lead in the event the dog needed to stay close to stay away from a grumpy person, angry dog, or scared child. It could also be used as a hands-free walking leash by attaching the leash to your waist. I also like that I can clip him to something using different lengths on the leash. It appears durable and well made.
We have 4 year old coon-hound mixes that are siblings, and they love to go for walks. The problem is that once they lock onto a scent they find intriguing, their nose goes to the ground and they are off. This leash is very sturdy and durable, but has a bungee effect that helps reduce the fatigue you can get trying to hold them back. There is a second handle down closer to the connection point for controlling them in crowds/at parks. I was also unaware until recently that there is a seat belt connection that fits into the seatbelt receiver in your car, so you can tether them in the back seat if you worry about them going out the window at traffic lights. Overall a great leash with sturdy nylon strap, heavy-duty hardware/carabiner connection point, and seat belt connection.
This is the best leash I’ve gotten. With 8 dogs I’ve got a lot of leashes. This one is comfortable to hold. It locks into the seatbelt to make travel safe. And it holds up to a Bulldog pulling.
